SME Export Marketing Fund
The SME Marketing Fund provides funding to
Trade exhibitions held in Hong Kong targeting markets outside Hong Kong ;
Trade exhibitions held in Hong Kong targeting the local market ;
eligible exhibitors can apply for funding of up to 50% or a maximum of HK$100,000 each time.

Non-listed companies registered in Hong Kong under the Business Registration Ordinance (Cap. 310)
Having substantial business operations in Hong Kong at the time of applying for the fund
Not the organizer/co-organizer/service provider of the promotional activities involved in the application and services related to the activities, or a company related to the organizer/co-organizer/service provider

Amount of funding

The maximum funding for each application is HK$100,000 or 50% of the approved total expenditure, whichever is lower.

There is no limit to the number of times each enterprise can apply for fund support, and the maximum cumulative funding amount is HK$1 million.
Funding Available
Exhibition booth rental fees collected by the organizer/co-organizer; or rental fees collected by the organizer/co-organizer for participating in the exhibition in other modes of participation, including display cabinets, tabletop booths, mannequins/clothing hangers (i.e. "other modes of participation"). For other modes of participation, the applicant's exhibits must be permanently set up at a fixed location throughout the exhibition period. The applicant must be shown as an exhibitor on the exhibitor list, and its full company name and Hong Kong contact information must be displayed.
The costs of building, setting up and designing the exhibition booth, the transportation costs of booth components and exhibits (except goods for sale), and the rental costs of booth layout.
The organizer/co-organizer collects registration fees from exhibitors who are invited to act as speakers at the exhibition.
The cost of placing advertisements in the exhibition brochure and printing promotional materials/leaflets (excluding souvenirs) with the full name of the applicant company and the full name of the event. The relevant promotional materials/leaflets are only for distribution at the relevant event.
The organizer/co-organizer will charge exhibitors for displaying advertisements on-site at the exhibition, including vertical banners, posters, promotional stickers and electronic information screens. The relevant advertisements must be permanently placed at a fixed location specified in the exhibition contract throughout the exhibition period. The on-site display advertisements must also display the applicant's full company name and Hong Kong contact information.
The organizer/co-organizer will charge exhibitors for the use of mobile advertising mascots for promotional purposes at the exhibition. The mascot must be used for promotion at the venue and exhibition period specified in the exhibition contract and within the time period and scope specified by the organizer. The mascot is only used to promote the products and/or services of the applicant enterprise during the event and must display the applicant enterprise's full company name and Hong Kong contact information. The design must be registered or authorized for use by the applicant enterprise.
The round-trip travel expenses (by air, train, etc.) of the applicant company owner/partner/shareholder and/or Hong Kong salaried employee who is a representative of the exhibitor setting up a booth at the exhibition from Hong Kong to the city where the event is held, but excluding the transportation expenses within the city and the transportation expenses not related to the event. Generally, only the transportation expenses from 5 days before the event to 5 days after the event will be regarded as related to the event.
Accommodation expenses of the applicant company’s proprietor/partner/shareholder and/or Hong Kong salaried employee who is a representative of an exhibitor setting up a booth at the exhibition in the event city during the period of the foreign event, excluding accommodation expenses not related to the event. Generally, only accommodation expenses from 2 days before the event to 2 days after the event will be regarded as related to the event.

3. Unlimited company: A certified copy or electronic extract of the company information in the business register (must be issued within the last two years)
or Limited Company: Apply for a full copy of the company's most recent Annual Return or Incorporation Form (for a limited company) from the Companies Registry
4. A copy of the valid Hong Kong identity card or passport of the person who signed the application form on behalf of the applicant company

5. Original/certified copies of payment receipts for all reported expenses
6. Copies of relevant invoices/quotations/contracts etc. for payment of all expenses claimed
